Hanping Chinese SMS Reader Pro 1.0b1 released!
August 26th, 2010The first public beta of Hanping Chinese SMS Reader.
This app is for those who receive Chinese SMS messages and want to know more about the meaning. You can read the pinyin, vocab list (built using Hanping Chinese Dictionary) and Google Translate translation. You can also play the audio of the message.
Optionally, when you receive a Chinese SMS, this app will automatically append the pinyin/translation etc and also raise a system notification.
Even if you do not usually receive Chinese SMS messages, you can use this app to save Chinese text in your SMS inbox so its always conveniently available.
Other features include Hanzi colouring (according to tone) and convenient click-throughs to Hanping Chinese Dictionary.
Note – this app requires the latest version of Hanping Chinese Dictionary (2.2.10 or later) to be installed.

- Now, before user ever specifies Pinyin or English, the searching will try to match Pinyin first. Before, if user started the app and typed “wo”, they would get results matching English (for example results about “Wo river”). Now, because Pinyin matching is tried first, the Pinyin matches will come up instead together with an “English” button allowing the user to see English matches. If the user clicks on the English button, then English becomes the default matching from then on
